Refund Policy
How refunds and cancellations work for trips purchased through Randomtrip.
Overview
This Refund Policy explains how cancellation, refunds, and payment disputes work when you purchase experiences through Randomtrip. Specific offers may include additional terms shown at checkout; where they conflict, the checkout terms control for that purchase.
Nature of the service
Many Randomtrip experiences are customized or date-specific (travel services, reservations, or curator time). Once key components are committed with suppliers, refunds may be limited. The surprise element does not remove your statutory consumer rights where they apply.
Cancellations by you
If you need to cancel:
- Request cancellation as early as possible through the contact or support channel indicated in your confirmation or account.
- Whether a full refund, partial refund, or credit applies depends on how far in advance you cancel, the Tripper's policy, and supplier non-refundable costs.
- If no travel has been booked yet and the Tripper cancels without cost to them, we will aim to refund payment method charges minus any explicitly non-refundable fees stated at purchase.
Changes or cancellations by the Tripper or Randomtrip
If a Tripper cannot deliver the experience due to force majeure, supplier failure, or operational reasons, we will offer a rescheduled date, a comparable alternative where feasible, or a refund of amounts paid for the undelivered portion, consistent with applicable law and the terms of sale.
Failed or reversed payments
If Mercado Pago or your bank declines or reverses a charge, access to the purchased experience may be suspended until payment is successfully completed. Duplicate charges or processor errors should be reported to us and to the payment provider.
Chargebacks
Please contact us before initiating a chargeback so we can resolve billing issues. Unwarranted chargebacks may result in account restrictions and may not reflect the outcome of a good-faith cancellation discussion.
Processing time
Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method where possible. Timing depends on Mercado Pago or your bank (often several business days after we issue the refund).
Statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits mandatory consumer rights in your country (including cooling-off rules where they apply to distance contracts). If you believe a statutory right applies, tell us and we will review your case.
